Yesterday Quarterly No. 03 featuring Graham Tolbert

$12.00

The third issue of Yesterday Quarterly features Graham Tolbert, a photographer based in Minneapolis, MN. Working in both film and digital mediums, he tours with bands as a staff photographer and contributes album art — including photography and collage — for musical acts such as Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso, Flock of Dimes, and Big Red Machine, among others. He also works with designers and commercial clients including Blu Dot, Brand Black, Hennepin Made, and Ben Newman Furniture. In 2023, he published the limited-edition broadsheet “Water World”. Originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, he splits his time between Minneapolis, a cabin in northern Minnesota, and the Triangle area of North Carolina.

In August of 2023, Tolbert connected with editor Elizabeth de Cleyre on the phone from Salt Lake City, where he was touring with the band Sylvan Esso, and talked about photographing the duo on their stop in Kansas City, MO.

Yesterday Quarterly is a longform interview series, featuring conversations with creatives and entrepreneurs that zero in on a day in their life, capturing the quotidian, the routine, and the unexpected. YQ offers a kind of intimacy of holding someone's day in your hands, and invites us to slow down, read, and reconsider how we span our time.

Print, full color, 60 pages, 5.5” x 8”
